LA VECCHIA DOROTEA AL TEATRO GEROLAMO

Cari amici,

TURANDOT FOREVER

Within the project environment Turandot Forever - Opera within Tradition and Innovation for the Audience of the Future - funded by Regione Lombardia, Sistema Camerale Lombardo and Cariplo Foundation, by means of InnovaCultura 2015 tender notice, a new partnership was born between Grupporiani Association - The Carlo Colla & Sons Company, The Ricordi Historical Archive and Lilopera Association which designed an innovative cultural promotion as well as an active and interactive educational path for the audience; in particular for children, which are the privileged target of the raising awareness actions for Grand Opera organised by Lilopera Association.

The project has been based on the operatic piece Turandot composed by Puccini. It has been chosen by The Carlo Colla & Sons Company as a new production for the 2014/15 season, and also by The Teatro alla Scala to open the season dedicated to EXPO 2015.

Thanks to the collection and study of valued documents and iconographic materials regarding the last Puccini's masterpiece enshrined in The Ricordi Historical Archive (images of sketches and costumes by Chini and Brunelleschi), Lilopera has compiled digital and multimedia materials then presented to an audience of families in 8 free sessions at The Scala Theatrical Museum. Its purpose was to prepare the audience for the view of the marionette staging of the Opera at The Piccolo Teatro Grassi from the 26th of June to the 19th of July, which was produced by The Carlo Colla & Sons Company in cooperation with the Design Course for Theatre: POLI.design.

The material gathered at The Historical Archive has been vital for the development of contents and educational paths about Turandot which are interactive and multimedia. These materials are intended for kindergarten, first grade primary and secondary schools teachers and to be used in class by means of the most advanced computer tools (such as LIM and tablets). In October 2015 The Carlo Colla & Sons' Atelier will present these materials during free workshop sessions.

A new educational section of the Grupporiani Association website is composed by this whole range of learning materials which are available for free to teachers.

By means of these new tools, the young audience is prepared to the view of Turandot recordings staged with marionettes at the Company's Atelier (from the 24th of October to the 1st of November 2015).
